I have kept a list of some of the blogs I read, articles I review, e-books I update, webinars I watch etc and over the last year I have averaged around 35 individual pieces of professional development a month. There are some common themes – I have learned a lot about changes to the revised EYFS and engaged with other trainers and practitioners to find out more about Ofsted expectations.
While I am pleased with what I have achieved, I do seem sometimes to float around without a clear aim in mind, so I wanted to plan more focused CPD for next year. To help me achieve this aim, I have written a new 'Action Planning for 2022' webinar which will be delivered live and free to early years providers in January – www.childcare.co.uk/webinars.
So, how did I plan my CPD for 2022?
Well, my first step was to buy a 2022 diary – those who know me know I use an A5 Filofax.
Then I plotted out what CPD I want to do through the year and how I will link webinars, training, blogs etc into my learning.
The best laid plans and all that... it will probably go horribly wrong when Ofsted introduce something new or DfE change something or there’s a safeguarding update, but, for now, I feel very organised.
