Whistleblowing Procedures
We are committed to the highest possible standards of openness, honesty and accountability in our setting. We have a Whistleblowing Procedure to help us comply with the EYFS (requirement 3.4).
Our Whistleblowing Procedure aims to protect children by enabling staff to raise concerns about any failure to effectively support their care or safety needs, inside the setting or elsewhere.
If there is a concern, it can be raised with the manager / owner or reported directly to the Local Safeguarding Partners (ChECS in Cheshire East - 0300 123 5012). Ofsted (0300 123 1231) and our insurance company (childcare.co.uk/contact) may also be informed depending on the circumstances.
Staff who raise a legitimate concern, in good faith and not for personal gain, will be protected throughout the whistleblowing process.
Note: this policy is underpinned by legislation in the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998, which encourages people to raise concerns about misconduct or malpractice in the workplace, in order to promote good governance and accountability in the public interest.
