We try to do something related to marketing every month in addition to updating our Childcare.co.uk profile regularly…
- January – it’s typically a quiet month for enquiries so we update our website in January.
- February – we plan our Facebook and Twitter posts for the year.
- March – we update our flyer.
- April – we send out a questionnaire.
- May – we speak to each family.
- June – have you ever tried a leaflet drop?
- July – re-establish local links.
We aim to attend various summer open days with the children – we wear our business t-shirts and all the children in their logo’d hats. We promote ourselves by being amazing with the little ones so everyone sees what quality care their child will receive with us.
- August – visit the library.
- September – research local competitors.
- October – make the most of Halloween.
- November – we plan our monthly website blogs for the year ahead.
- December – free bonus sessions.
More top tips:
**When you do show rounds to new parents, ask them, ‘How did you find us?’ and use their replies to boost marketing next time.
**We get a lot of our new business through our Childcare.co.uk gold member account.
**Use word of mouth - tell everyone that you are an Ofsted registered childminder.
**Keep your Local Authority advertising updated.
**Don't become complacent - plan your marketing so you are always looking for new ways to reach parents.
